Well, here it is date night morning and I still have no games picked out for tonight. I have the chicken cooked, I have the potatoes and toppings ready to take, I have the broth and the noodles to make the soup but I have no entertainment yet.
Well, that's not completely true, I have 3 games picked out but they are kind of lame. One I think will be fun is an auction. The person with the oldest coin gets the prize. I think that one will go over well.
Another one is, the leader asks a question like "What day is after Friday?" easy huh? Well they cannot answer with Saturday and they must answer within a short time frame. I think that will be a hit (and rather funny if you ask me).
The other one is Have you ever. You ask "Have you ever.........locked your keys in your car?" Everyone that has gets a point. The winner has the lowest number of points. It might be interesting if I can come up with some really good questions.
The problem with finding games for date night is that 70% of the congregation is over 65 so I have to find games that don't involve alot of activity. But I have to find games that will be just as fun for the younger people.
I'm sure everything will go just fine. I overthink these kind of things. I don't know why I stress about it. I'm the one that suggests date night, or movie night, or Valentine date night so I guess I must enjoy doing it or I would quit making the suggestions. I do enjoy it it's just that our church is so small that I don't have a lot of variation.
Tonight will kind of kick off our summer of a monthly activity. We will start hold movie nights in May. One Saturday night a month, we hold a outdoor movie night. We usually get a good family type of movie and show it on the side of the church. Anyone that wants to stop by and watch is welcome to. The movie is free and the youth sell popcorn and pop and water. We don't always have real good turn outs but thoses that come enjoy it.
Well, I beter get off of here, try to find a few more games just in case, and get teh chicken noodle soup to going. Have a great weekend.

Sounds like fun. I'm just like you, volunteer for everything and then think "i have so much to do!" Here's an idea. Have each table be a team. Ask for different items ie: liscence, binky, aarp card, black sock, etc. The first team to bring one to you gets points. We did this and it worked really well, cuz the older people could just sit and the younger could do all the running. Just an idea. Have fun!
