I need some help here.

Last year I attended a retreat with the women from church. Somehow I am now in charge of the games and the fire for this year's retreat. I am trying to find some games taht can be played with a bunch of women ranging in age from 21 - 80. I think there were close to 40 of us at the retreat last year.

Last year we played the handbag game and while that was fun, I don't think we should play it two years in a row. We also did a "getting to know you" game in which you would go to someone you didn't know and ask them a question from a list provided to you and then tell the group about this person.

I want something fun and different and I am having trouble finding something. The retreat is at the end of March so I still have a couple of weeks but time is getting short. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Gotta go search the web some more to try to find some games to play.

Frustrated

I have a new favorite song. It is by Francesca Battistelli and it is called "Free to be Me". It has a real catchy tune. I have seen the video on line and it has a place to add it to your blog of Facebook. I cannot get it to post to either one. Not real sure what my problem is. Oh well, I will eventually get it posted somewhere. If you get a chance, go here http://media.wordlabelgroup.com/freetobeme/ and see if you can get the video to play. Absolutely a great song.

Well, it's 5 am and here I am on the computer after getting hubby off to work, doing up the few pots and pans from last night and getting supper in the crock pot.

There hasn't been alot going on around here lately. This week is FFA week at school and Cassie has been participating in that. Monday they had a cook out (the weather held out for that) Tuesady they wore their FFA jackets for the school picture, I'm not sure what the activity was for that day. Yesterday was drive your tractor to school day and NASCAR day. They had to push a car around the gym, re-fuel and change a tire. The freshman came in last place. Today is Hat or Hick day. Cassie doens't have a hat and WILL NOT dress as a hick. They also have the kiss the pig today. They have been putting change in jars to see which teacher will have to kiss the pig this year. Tomorrow is the polar dive. Cassie plans on taking part in that. YIKES! It has been warm for the past couple of days but it is going to turn cold tonight and tomorrow. They are filling the trough today and letting it sit out over night for tomorrow. In years past they have to break the ice so the kids can get in. BRRRRRR!

Well, I guess it's all for a good cause (I'm not sure what it is but I'm sure it's good)

Well, I am going to sign off, get in the shower and get ready for work. Only two more days until the weekend!!

thankful for women's meeting at church

Not sure what the problem is but I am thankful tonight is the women's meeting at church. Hubby is not in a good mood. Crabby with all of us.

Cassie informed me yesterday that she is on the construction crew/lighting/sound for the musical this year. Yippee skippy for us. The family of the people who are part of the muscial usually get good seats. I am very excited because this year they are doing GREASE!! That is one of my all time favorite movies.

Well, this was just a quick post before I leave for my meeting. I will probably try to post more in the morning before getting ready for work.

Where has the time gone?

Reality set in yesterday. After I dropped Mason off at school for his tutoring I saw one of Cassie's friends driving with the driver's ed instructor. It hit me! Cassie will be doing that in aobut 3 months. YIKES!!

I checked Cassie's grades yesterday and she got a 100% on both the packet and the test. If she gets at least a 65 on the re-take test on Monday she should be eligible to play softball. Keep your fingers crossed.

The weather cannot decide what it wants to do here in the midwest. It got into the 60's a while back, now it's in the 20's and 30's, it's going to get into the mid 40's next week. You chould check out the pics my cousin Windi has of winter in Germany. If winter in IL looked like that I would be thrilled.

Well, break time is over. I will stop back over the weekend. Tonight is senior night so I will be at the bb game.

AHHH the sound of the kids playing nicely

NOT!!!

My children are "playing" together. In our house that means that they are wrestling, picking and being just plain ornery to each other. It's amazing how families show love for each other. They have been at it for over an hour now. I just sit and laugh because getting upset quit working years ago.

Cassie has been struggling in Algebra this quarter. (and that is putting it mildly) I told her she needs to get help or she won't be able to play softball this spring. She went to another math teacher and asked for help. Within 5 minutes of him explaining it to her she got it. She has the actual class for 80 minutes every other day and she can't get it. The teacher does a problem on the board with the answer and then tells them to do their assignments. I think she will be able to pass it and get on with accounting to finish out her math credits. Cross your fingers for her.

Mason is doing much better this time around. He is finally turning in the homework he completes. He used to sit at the kitchen table, do his homework for two hours and then not turn it in. It makes no sense to me at all.

The kids are now chasing each other around the house like a rabbit and a dog. Does it ever end? I am not complaining though, I will take this over them screaming at each other any day.

Well I am going to go check on the dog. Chance had a lump removed from her hind quaters today. It started out as a little wart looking thing and then grew more than the size of a quarter around and was raised up about 1/2 inch. She was up and moving around about an hour after surgery. They didn't have a cone to fit her so we have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't chew her stitches out.

Good night!

slow going

Cassie was to have "open gym" for softball this morning. I tried getting her up because her ride gets here around 6:30 am. She decided she wasn't going so I sent a text to Andrea to let her know, she was thankful because now she won't go either.

Yesterday seemed to fly by at work. I don't feel like I got a lot accomplished but the day at least didn't drag on.

The kids had the day off school so Grandma Helen took Cassie in to order her contacts and get Mason his allergy shots. She loves having to take them places. It's the only time she gets out of the house in the winter unless I drag her to a basketball game or something.

We found out yesterday that Joe's sister and her husband are moving to Oklahoma City for his job. He starts on March 1st but she is going to stay here, wait for her son to graduate and try to get the house sold. I sure hope they don't have any problem selling the house. They will be gone for about 6 years and then he will be able to retire and move back here.

Well, it's now 6:07 and I'm still not dressed for work. Darn computer! I better get going and get teh kids up for school and get myself out the door.

Up and Running Again

Well, we have a computer again thanks to my uncle. Here's a quick update as to what has been going on in our household in the last couple of months:

Christmas came and went, I got another year older, the kids are doing ok in school, Cassie is cheerleading and Mason hasn't practiced his guitar in months. Both of the kids have had to get new glasses/contacts.

Mason found a hat he was looking for. It is a furry one with ear flaps. He was so excited.

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin. Raelynn and her family and Todd and his fiance joined us. The picture above is of our family in front of the stone fireplace at the lodge. We had a great time and look forward to another family trip.

Cassie has started softball "open gym". It's not practice because it's not mandatory but they practice softball during open gym. She is very excited about a busy softball season.

I understand my cousin may be coming home from Germany in April. Hopefully they can make it to a softball game while they are here. I know what huge fans they are of the sport.

Well, I have a lot of updates to do at other sites now that the computer is running again so I will say so long for now.
